Lena Mae Emling

	Lena Mae Emling, age 84, of Pinckneyville, and a descendent of several pioneer families of Perry County, died Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 7:45 p.m. in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
	Lena was born on March 14, 1918 near Denmark, Perry County, a daughter of Franklin Walter and Nora Rosetta (Eaton) Gillis.  She married Russel Arthur Emling on June 28, 1938 in Jackson, Cape County, Missouri and he survives.  They had celebrated 64 years of marriage this year.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pinckneyville and had worked for the former P.R. Mallory Semi-Conductor Company in DuQuoin as an assembly line worker.
	Survivors include her husband, Russel of Pinckneyville; son, Clayton Emling and his wife, Martha, of Pinckneyville; daughter, Janet Schmidt and her husband, Dieter, of Show Low, Arizona; sisters, Frieda Gillis Edman (Mrs. Quentin) of West Covina, California and Frankie Gillis Clay (Mrs. Earl) of Galesburg; a sister-in-law, Josephine Gillis (Mrs. Willard G.) of DuQuoin; grandchildren, Kelly Eisenhauer Johnston and her husband, Patrick, of Carpentersville, Terry L. Eisenhauer and his wife, Carloyn, of Mesa, Arizona, Elizabeth Emling Shanklin of Union City, Tennessee, Charles (Rusty) Emling and his wife, Kathi, of Burlington, Kansas and Richard Emling and his wife, Theresa, of Pinckneyville; great-grandchildren, Sara and Adam Johnston, Terry and Traci Eisenhauer, Kala and Peyton Emling, Shelbi, Sydni and Sophi Emling and Emily Shanklin and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
	She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Willard George Willis.
	Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 7 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, with Rev. James Bush officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, DuQuoin.  Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation or the First Baptist Church.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville on Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. then at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
